The Threshold, the transportal space; the memorial for the conscious, subconscious and unconscious time and effort it takes to get in between where we were and where we end up.

Choreographer: Toi  McLendon Pearson.

Dancer: Meaghan Ahava.

Born and raised in the great country of Texas,

Toi McClendon received a Bachelors of Arts in Dance Performance from Texas Woman’s University in 2010. In 2011 she moved to Atlanta and began creating an exciting network with other dance and creative artists.

She founded and produced BlabberMouthATL, a showcase for emerging choreographers in Atlanta who needed
exposure.

McClendon has performed with T.Lang Dance, Nick Cave, and been an artist in residency with the Spelman College Department of Theatre and Dance. In 2017 Toi created the
professional dance collective, Professional Bodies. An artist, dancer, instructor, and visionary, Pearson develops hypnotizing exhibitions of moving emotional vulnerability and rumbling physicality with a movement vocabulary that is all her own.

Professional Bodies performs electric, time-based art for multi-sensory consumption. Drawing on her own experience Toi collaborates with her dancers to offer a moment of empathy, belonging, and connection to an audience.
